Avara — teaching infrastructure

Problem

Movement teachers juggle calendars, Instagram posts, studio software, and email blasts. Students never know which surface is canonical — so they stop trusting updates.

Approach

Treat the teacher's calendar as the source of truth. Generate public pages automatically, let workshops and retreats have their own landing experiences, and give followers a lightweight way to stay in sync without another social feed.

What I shipped

• Teacher profiles with avatar, bio, and location
• Rolling class rhythm derived from calendar events
• Dedicated pages for workshops and retreats with hero imagery and CTAs
• Follow / interest mechanics for email-based updates

Stack (high level)

Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Supabase, careful edge cases around timezone + recurrence.

Outcome

Dogfooded daily for my own Jivamukti-style teaching in Hamburg — every rough edge shows up in my own inbox first.
